   2) play 3ds games only without modification to your console, get an expensive Sky3ds PLUS
   3) play ds games and 3ds games but requires to do custom firmware modification to your 2DS, get a R4i Gold 3DS PLUS, http://old.r4wood.com/products/R4i-Gold-3DS-PLUS-version-Compatible-DS-3DS-Games.html, but CFW is hard to do for most newbies

   Same factory produced. No system compatibility problem. While for mechanical fit, we are not sure since original Nintendo 3DS cartridge may not fit NEW 3DSXL. You can try friend's r4 card on your console, if their r4 does not fit, this card does not either.
